About The Position

Tyson & Mendes is seeking an Associate Attorney for their Scottsdale team. This role is for an attorney with 3+ years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense, who is ready to handle sophisticated work, gain independence, and learn from experienced litigators. The Scottsdale office combines the benefits of a smaller team with the resources of a national firm. Remote work opportunities are available. The position offers opportunities for increased responsibility and mentorship from experienced leaders. Attorneys will handle complex civil litigation matters including general liability, catastrophic injury, wrongful death, premises liability, professional liability, bad faith, and employment law. Responsibilities include developing practical experience in discovery, depositions, motion practice, case strategy, client communication, mediation, expert work, and trial preparation. The firm emphasizes learning from experienced leaders like Sitar Bhatt and Lynn Allen, who offer diverse perspectives and deep litigation experience. The smaller team environment provides greater visibility and opportunities for growth, while the national firm infrastructure offers sophisticated clients, professional development, and extensive resources. The firm invests in technology, including AI-enabled legal tools and modern research resources, to help attorneys work more effectively. Associates will also have access to Tyson & Mendes' Trial Academy, APEX methodology, and their approach to 'Stopping Nuclear Verdicts®'. The ideal candidate is an Arizona attorney with 3+ years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense, who can manage a caseload, handle discovery, communicate professionally, and is eager for more responsibility in depositions, motion practice, and case strategy. Proactive, responsive, curious, and receptive to feedback are key traits. While remote work is an option, collaboration with the Scottsdale team is maintained. The firm values work quality, client responsiveness, attorney growth, and team contribution.
