About The Position

Join Morrison Mahoney LLP as a full-time Associate Attorney, working in civil litigation. Areas of focus include Professional Liability, Tort and Liability Defense, and Insurance Coverage. Requirements

Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
Admission to the New Hampshire State Bar.
At least four (4) years of prior civil litigation experience.
Experience in both New Hampshire state and federal courts.
Experienced trying cases in NH courts.
Experienced taking/defending depositions.
ADR experience.
Settlement negotiations experience.
Self-starter with strong advocacy skills.
Proficiency in drafting and arguing dispositive motions.
Ability to perform legal research.
Ability to respond to discovery requests.
Attention to detail.
Effective communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Bar admission in Maine and/or Vermont, or a sufficient UBE score to waive into one or both jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

Manage own caseload from inception to resolution.
Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and trials.
Engage closely with clients, experts, and fellow attorneys to devise effective litigation strategies.
Provide clients with updates and interim status reports on their cases.
Conduct in-depth legal research, preparing memoranda to bolster case strategies.
Work alongside partners and senior attorneys to ensure seamless case management.
Take and defend fact witness and expert depositions.
