About The Position

MGC is seeking experienced Coverage attorneys to join their Litigation teams in North and South Carolina. Remote/hybrid options will be considered after training/integration with the team. Associates will gain hands-on experience in all phases of civil litigation from case inception to trial, including direct client contact. The firm offers competitive compensation with monthly bonus opportunities. This position is on a membership track with defined benchmarks and goals, and mentorship opportunities are available. Requirements

  • 3-5 years of insurance coverage litigation or other relevant experience.
  • Licensed to practice law in North or South Carolina.
  • Commitment to being a nationally recognized insurance law firm, known for legal expertise, innovation, and a strong focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, enabling effective communication with a diverse clientele, colleagues, and staff, ensuring outstanding customer service.
  • Strong organizational capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and a willingness to learn database management systems.
  • Initiative and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assess new files to establish action plans, budgets, and recommendations.
  • Identify pleading requirements and delegate tasks to paralegals as needed.
  • Prepare discovery responses and manage document production.
  • Attend depositions, hearings, and other discovery events, providing thorough reports.
  • Negotiate settlements, secure authority, and prepare for trial as necessary.
  • Maintain regular communication with paralegals and legal assistants.
