About The Position

Lydecker is seeking an associate attorney with 5 years of experience for its FL offices. This hybrid position involves handling a variety of cases, including the defense of construction litigation and general liability, under the supervision of a partner. The role is ideal for someone with a strong work ethic looking to join our defense litigation practice group in Boca Raton or Miami.

Requirements

FL bar license in good standing
JD from an ABA approved law school
Minimum of 5 years of civil defense litigation experience, preferably in construction defect litigation
Experience working on up to 15+ cases at once
Experience attending and defending depositions
Experience taking depositions
Experience with court appearances
Experience with motion and discovery drafting
Basic knowledge of computer operation, internet software, spreadsheet software and word processing software
Ability to type and operate office equipment
Self-motivated and a self-starter
Ability to work well independently
Strong client communication skills
Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations
Listens and gets clarification
Responds well to questions
Participates in meetings when required
Writes clearly and informatively
Edits work for spelling and grammar
Varies writing style to meet needs
Presents numerical data effectively
Able to read and interpret written information
Keeps client and firm information confidential at all times
Understands and implements general rules of ethical behavior applicable to lawyers

Responsibilities

Bill a minimum number of hours
Draft/review and respond to petitions/complaints, motions, and written discovery
Attend hearings and meetings with clients when requested
Prepare for and attend depositions
Assist with preparation for mediations and trials
