Our Philadelphia, PA office is seeking a highly-motivated Associate Attorney with at least five years’ experience in the defense of civil litigation. Broad experience in Insurance Defense Litigation is a plus, as is experience in personal injury, premises liability, construction defect, employment, banking, mass tort, product liability and automobile/trucking cases. Must be licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Additional state admissions are a plus. Requirements

  • at least five years’ experience in the defense of civil litigation
  • licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey

Responsibilities

  • practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and state of New Jersey in state and federal courts
  • manage multiple case files successfully in a busy environment
  • demonstrate strong legal research and analytical skills
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • strong attention to detail with superb organization and prioritization skills
  • ability to move from case to case
  • knowledge of both state and federal court procedures
  • draft, prepare and handle pleadings, motions, orders and legal memoranda
  • draft and respond to written discovery
  • draft various motions, including preliminary objections, discovery motions, and dispositive motions
  • conduct legal research competently and with proficiency
  • prepare and take depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts
  • review client documents, draft case evaluations and status report correspondence
  • assist with and participate in arbitrations, mediations, court appearances, settlement conferences, and trial
  • complete time entries for daily tasks in billing platform
