Family Law - Associate Attorney
About The Position
Bremer Whyte Brown & O'Meara, LLP is seeking a talented Family Law Associate Attorney to join their award-winning Family Law team. They welcome candidates with family law experience as well as civil litigation attorneys looking to transition into family law practice. This is a mid-sized law firm headquartered in Newport Beach, California, recognized for its U.S. News – Best Lawyers® 'Best Law Firms' rankings. The Family Law team is recognized annually as one of the Best Firms for Family Law. As an integral member of the Family Law team, the attorney will handle a broad spectrum of matters, including divorce, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, child support modifications, and more. The role involves managing all aspects of litigation from inception to resolution, including legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, and representing clients in court. This role offers an excellent platform for professional growth, with collaboration and mentorship from experienced partners on challenging cases.
Requirements
- Minimum 3+ years of experience handling family law litigation matters, or 3+ years of experience handling civil litigation matters with a desire to transition into family law.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active admission to the California State Bar required.

- Experience preparing for, taking, and defending depositions.
- Experience briefing and arguing discovery and dispositive motions.
- Experience attending mediations.
- Experience interfacing with clients and opposing counsel.
- Trial experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated expertise in analyzing, researching, and drafting briefs and other pleadings addressing sophisticated legal issues in complex family law matters.
- Ability to manage a caseload independently while also collaborating with team members.
- Client-focused mindset and a passion for achieving successful outcomes.
Responsibilities
