About The Position

Heyl, Royster, Voelker & Allen DBA Heyl Royster is hiring a full-time Associate Attorney for their Peoria office. This role involves conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, representing clients in various legal proceedings, and managing a caseload with minimal supervision. The attorney will also collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategies and participate in negotiations and trials. Telecommuting is an option for this position.

Requirements

• Doctoral degree in Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• License to Practice Law in Illinois.
• Skills in legal research, legal writing and analysis.
• Must remain an attorney in good standing with the applicable state bar, including fulfillment of CLE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case preparation.
• Draft, review, and revise legal documents, including contracts, briefs, pleadings, motions, and correspondence.
• Represent clients in court, mediation, arbitration, and other legal proceedings.
• Maintain and manage a caseload with minimal supervision, ensuring timely delivery of services.
• Assist in the development of case strategies in collaboration with senior attorneys.
• Remain an attorney in good standing with the applicable state bar, including fulfillment of CLE requirements.
• Negotiate settlements, prepare for trials, and participate in hearings.
