About The Position

Lewis Brisbois, a full-service AmLaw 100 firm, is seeking an attorney for its San Diego, CA office to join its Healthcare & Long-Term Care Litigation Practice Group. The ideal candidate will be admitted to practice in California and have 1-7 years of experience representing healthcare providers in state and federal courts and administrative proceedings. Experience defending and litigating medical malpractice lawsuits is preferred. Lewis Brisbois represents a wide range of healthcare providers and handles medical malpractice actions in numerous areas. The firm's healthcare practice group is one of the largest in the country, with a subset specializing in elder abuse litigation for long-term care facilities. Qualified candidates will be comfortable with drafting and responding to discovery and initial pleadings, drafting and arguing motions, interviewing witnesses, taking and defending depositions, and preparing cases for trial. Strong writing and analytical skills, the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, and the capacity to work independently and as part of a team are essential. While healthcare law experience is preferred, the firm is also interested in talented attorneys with excellent litigation skills in any arena who have a demonstrated interest in healthcare law.

Requirements

  • Admitted to practice in California.
  • 1-7 years of experience representing healthcare providers in state and federal courts and administrative proceedings.
  • Strong writing and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent skills in any litigation arena (if no healthcare law experience).
  • Demonstrated interest in healthcare law (if no healthcare law experience).
