About The Position

Segal McCambridge, a nationally recognized litigation firm, is seeking an Associate Attorney to join our West Virginia team. This position focuses on toxic tort (asbestos), product liability, and workers' compensation matters and offers the opportunity to take ownership of a meaningful caseload while collaborating with a team of highly experienced litigators. Whether you're based in Charleston, Morgantown, Wheeling, or elsewhere in West Virginia, we offer the flexibility to work remotely or in a hybrid capacity.

Requirements

Active license to practice law in West Virginia
At least 1 year of civil litigation experience
Experience drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents
Experience conducting legal research and handling depositions
Strong legal writing, analytical, advocacy, and communication skills
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
Self-motivated professional who takes ownership of assignments

Nice To Haves

Pennsylvania licensure (or licensure in neighboring states) is a plus
Prior toxic tort, asbestos, product liability, or workers' compensation experience preferred
Mediation and arbitration experience is a plus

Responsibilities

Manage all phases of assigned litigation matters with partner oversight
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents
Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategy
Take and defend depositions
Communicate with clients and insurance carriers
Participate in mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation
Handle cases from inception through resolution while building your litigation skills
