About The Position
This is a strong opportunity for an early-career litigator to build a foundation in civil litigation alongside experienced attorneys, with real casework from day one and a clear path to growing responsibility. Kelleher + Holland, LLC is a full-service law firm with a growing litigation practice handling a wide range of complex civil disputes. We're seeking an entry-level Litigation Attorney to support our team on matters outside of the personal injury and contingent-fee space, with the opportunity to develop hands-on litigation skills under the mentorship of senior attorneys. The Litigation Attorney will work closely with senior attorneys and partners across all stages of litigation, taking on increasing case responsibility as skills develop. This role is ideal for a recently admitted attorney with 1–3 years of litigation experience who is eager to build strong research, writing, and courtroom fundamentals.
Requirements
- Active license to practice law in Illinois; additional bar admissions a plus
- 1–3 years of litigation experience preferred; strong academic or clerkship background considered
- Strong legal writing and research skills
- Eagerness to learn and take on increasing case responsibility over time
Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, motions, and other court filings
- Assist with written discovery and deposition preparation
- Attend court hearings, status conferences, and mediations alongside senior attorneys
- Support case strategy and client communications under attorney supervision
- Help manage case files, deadlines, and court filings
