About The Position
A national litigation firm is seeking an experienced associate to join its San Francisco office. This is an opportunity to handle sophisticated civil litigation while taking on meaningful responsibility for cases from discovery through resolution. The practice handles complex matters for businesses, insurers, and other corporate clients across a range of industries. The associate will work closely with experienced trial attorneys while receiving significant hands-on litigation experience. This is a strong opportunity for an attorney looking for substantive case responsibility, direct client exposure, and the opportunity to continue developing courtroom and trial experience within a national litigation platform.
Requirements
- 4+ years of civil litigation experience
- Strong deposition and motion practice experience
- Excellent legal research and writing skills
- Ability to independently manage deadlines and a litigation caseload
- Comfortable working directly with clients and opposing counsel
- Active California Bar admission
Responsibilities
- Manage cases through various stages of litigation
- Take and defend depositions
- Draft pleadings, discovery, and substantive motions
- Conduct legal research and develop case strategy
- Work with experts and prepare witnesses
- Attend hearings, mediations, and court appearances
- Communicate directly with clients
- Assist with trial preparation and case resolution
