Requirements

  • Currently licensed in state of South Carolina
  • Strong writers
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong research, writing and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work independently

Nice To Haves

  • Deposition and mediation experience preferred
  • Organized and self-motivated candidates preferred

Responsibilities

  • Defend claims against employers in nearly every industry.
  • Represent the interest of the client with the support of one or more partners.
  • Handle a caseload.
  • Manage deadlines.
  • Conduct depositions of parties, lay witnesses, medical providers and experts.
  • Represent clients in mediations.
  • Draft briefs and motions.
  • Prepare for and conduct and argue in hearings before an administrative commission.
  • Perform legal analysis on new and existing claims.
  • Investigate cases.
  • Review and analyze medical records.
  • Develop case strategy.
  • Respond to discovery.
  • Drafting of motions.
  • Take depositions.
  • Attend hearings.
  • Attend mediations.
  • Negotiate settlements.
  • Build relationships with a team of HGKG attorneys as well as a host of clients including insurance adjusters and risk managers.
  • Create and submit reports required by the client.
  • Draft motions and briefs required to support the position of the client.
  • Negotiate settlements on behalf of the client.
