About The Position
Kirton McConkie, a large Salt Lake City law firm, seeks an exempt organizations tax associate with 2-5 years of relevant law firm experience to join its Tax practice group. This position will focus primarily on federal tax matters for nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations.
Requirements
- 2-5 years of relevant law firm experience
- Excellent academic credentials
- Commitment to ethics
- Highly motivated and hard-working
- Able to work with minimal supervision
- Member of the Utah Bar or willing to become a member of the Utah Bar
- If not currently a member of the Utah Bar, must be a member of the Bar of another U.S. state
Nice To Haves
- Experience with corporate and partnership taxation
- Experience with state and local taxation
- Experience with international tax
- Experience with state nonprofit laws and regulations
- An LL.M. in taxation
Responsibilities
- Advising nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations on federal tax matters, including matters involving tax exempt status, unrelated business income, public charity and private foundation rules, governance, and compliance.
- Focusing primarily on federal tax matters for nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations.
