About The Position

Bremer Whyte Brown & O’Meara, LLP is seeking a talented Litigation Associate to join their award-winning team in their San Diego office. This is an opportunity to gain immediate hands-on experience handling a variety of litigation matters including wrongful death, premises liability, personal injury, construction, breach of contract/business disputes, and more. The role involves handling every aspect of cases from inception to resolution, including legal strategy, research, drafting pleadings and motions, managing discovery, arguing motions in court, attending mediations, and trial. Associates will work with a diverse range of clients and have the opportunity for professional growth and mentorship from experienced partners.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience in civil litigation in a law firm environment.
• Skilled in conducting legal research.
• Skilled in drafting pleadings and motions.
• Skilled in propounding and responding to discovery.
• Skilled in interfacing directly with clients and opposing counsel.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Current admission to the California State Bar is required.
• Exceptional communication and advocacy skills.
• Client-focused mindset.
• Passion for achieving successful outcomes.
• Desire and/or ability to manage a caseload independently.
• Ability to work collaboratively with team members.

Nice To Haves

• Experience taking and defending depositions.
• Experience arguing motions.
• Experience attending mediations.
• Trial experience is a plus.

Responsibilities
