About The Position

Bremer Whyte Brown & O’Meara, LLP is seeking a talented Business Litigation Associate to join their award-winning team in their Newport Beach headquarters. This mid-sized law firm is recognized for its 'Best Law Firms' rankings. As an integral member of the Business Litigation team, the Associate Attorney will gain immediate hands-on experience handling a wide variety of business litigation matters involving breach of contract, partnership/dissolution, real estate, construction disputes and more. From inception to resolution, the Associate Attorney will have the opportunity to handle every aspect of their cases including legal strategy, research, drafting pleadings and motions, managing discovery, arguing motions in court, attending mediations, and trial. The Associate Attorney will have the chance to work with a diverse range of clients, including individuals, businesses, and organizations. This role offers an excellent platform for professional growth, as the Associate Attorney will collaborate closely with experienced partners and team members.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience as an attorney handling a variety of business litigation matters involving corporate, construction, real estate, and other business disputes.
  • Current admission to the California State Bar.
  • Experienced in preparing pleadings, propounding and responding to discovery, drafting motions and legal briefs, taking and defending depositions, communicating with clients and opposing counsel, and appearing in court.
  • Exceptional communication and advocacy skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to interface confidently with sophisticated clients, as well as opposing counsel.
  • Ability and/or desire to manage a caseload independently, while also working collaboratively with team members.
  • Client-focused mindset and a passion for achieving successful outcomes.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Nice To Haves

  • Arbitration and/ trial experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience in handling transactional matters including forming business entities, drafting construction contracts, purchase and sale agreements, lease agreements, and other commercial contracts. is preferred, but not required.
