About The Position

Represent institutional mortgage lenders and servicers in bankruptcy matters with a focus on protecting and enforcing secured-creditor rights in Chapters 7, 13, and 11. Provide end-to-end legal strategy across the lifecycle of a bankruptcy case, including proof of claim, motions for relief from stay, plan review and objection, loan modification and loss-mitigation oversight, and post-petition compliance. Advise clients on complex bankruptcy, servicing, and investor-guideline issues to ensure regulatory compliance, minimize financial risk, and maximize recoveries while maintaining borrower-facing and court-facing credibility.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience working as an Attorney in the Bankruptcy arena.
  • At least 1 year representing creditors in Pennsylvania Bankruptcy Courts.
  • In good standing and an active member of the Bar.
  • Strong communication and writing skills.
  • Proven abilities to manage multiple responsibilities at once and know when to reprioritize and effectively manage a high case volume in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and rules.
  • Ability to analyze case law and provide recommendations.
  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Motivated self starter, with the ability to multi-task, as well as to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Proficient with superior attention to detail.
  • Possess the ability to work under various pressures and meet strict deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and generally at ease with utilizing technology.
  • Overall great attitude and willingness to adapt to change.
  • Must possess superior organizational skills.
  • Can identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
  • Can work a case file from start to finish.
  • Balances team and individual responsibilities while contributing to building a positive team spirit.
  • Examine ways to improve and promote quality.
  • Possess an analytical thought process and uses critical thinking skills.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States now and in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Protecting and enforcing secured-creditor rights in Chapters 7, 13, and 11.

  • Advise clients on complex bankruptcy, servicing, and investor-guideline issues to ensure regulatory compliance, minimize financial risk, and maximize recoveries while maintaining borrower-facing and court-facing credibility.
  • Attend hearings and mediations throughout the State of Pennsylvania.
