The Associate Athletic Director for Sports Medicine serves as a leader in the Cornell Athletics sports medicine department, providing oversight, clinical expertise, and operational direction while also serving as the primary athletic trainer for assigned high-impact sports programs. Through supervision of athletic training staff, this position will provide critical decision making regarding the prevention, assessment, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. Working collaboratively with athletics health and performance staff, team physicians, healthcare providers and coaches, this role helps to optimize student-athlete health, safety and performance. Through a unique blend of clinical expertise, leadership, mentorship, communication and performance integration that is critical to the success of Cornell Athletics, the Associate AD for Sports Medicine plays a central role in ensuring that student-athletes are healthy, prepared, and able to perform at their highest level while prioritizing their long-term well-being and overall development. This role operates within a high-performance, interdisciplinary model and requires a proactive, collaborative approach to integrated athlete care, blending clinical expertise with applied sport science principles.
