About The Position

This position is responsible for overseeing the Athletics Compliance Office and ensuring institutional control under NCAA rules and regulations. They are also responsible for the monitoring systems which assist the University in complying with all University, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations governing the intercollegiate athletics operations. They personally coordinate and direct coaches and monitor the recruitment, admission, and initial eligibility of prospects in all sports programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 8 years relevant experience including 5 years managerial experience
  • Strong experience and knowledge of all NCAA and conference rules and regulations regarding compliance issues.
  • Supervisory skills with the ability to administer and motivate staff.
  • Strong computer knowledge with the ability to learn different compliance software, including experience with the NCAA Compliance Assistant Software, Teamworks and CAPS platforms.
  • Ability to generate, cultivate and maintain relationships with many and maintain a high level of communication skills and the ability to work well with many people.
  • Ability to present information in front of large audiences with the ability to communicate information.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree or Juris Doctorate
  • Seven (7) years of experience in compliance at a Division I institution, conference office, or national office (NCAA).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations in areas of eligibility, financial aid, investigation of NCAA rule violations/enforcement, and recruiting.
  • Experience with NCAA Compliance Assistant Software, Teamworks, and CAPS platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Provide vision and leadership for the University NCAA Compliance Unit, including maintenance of systems for rules monitoring, staff education, enforcement actions, and reporting of violations.
  • Serve as the primary compliance administrator for football and other designated sports.
  • Oversee roster management for the Athletics Department sports programs.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of mandated forms, reports, assessments, and audits.
  • Provide leadership, training, and evaluation of compliance staff members.
  • Represent the department at University, conference, and national groups.
  • Assure timely investigation, resolution, and self-reporting of rules infractions.
  • Oversee the administration of financial aid and scholarship processes in conjunction with the athletics business office and the university’s financial aid office.
  • Act as a liaison between the NCAA, Initial Eligibility Center, Conference, and other institutions regarding compliance.
  • Provide rules education, monitor compliance systems, and oversee policies related to recruiting, on-campus recruiting visits, financial aid, and housing/dining.
  • Maintain the allocated budget.
  • Manage new employee compliance orientations, including onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Assist the department with monitoring NIL initiatives, athlete revenue share, policies, and software processes as a member of the BroncoPRO Team.
  • Serve as a member of the athletics department's senior staff team.
  • Provide support and oversight for assigned sport programs as a Sport Program Administrator or Secondary Sport Program Administrator.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
