About The Position

Reporting to the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis, The Associate/AVP, FP&A is a corporate finance position primarily responsible for, but not limited to, providing financial expertise surrounding the company’s asset management businesses and product lines. Specific tasks and projects will cover 1) financial modeling of income, balance sheet and cash liquidity needs, 2) preparation of asset management budgets and forecasts by fund and in aggregate, 3) the creation and enhancement of management reporting for actual asset management results by product, 4) expense monitoring, and 5) other ad hoc financial projects related to asset management as requested by the CFO, executive committee, board of directors as well as the Company’s strategic owners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or related discipline
  • 4-8 years of related professional experience
  • Experience in financial services preferred, and specifically within asset management
  • Attention to detail, proactive and willing to analyze additional layers of information needed to master subject area at hand
  • Team player with demonstrated ability to learn new systems/software quickly and work collaboratively with others in a less structured, start-up like environment
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate data, forming accurate conclusions and translating insights into action.
  • You are highly proficient in MS PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

Responsibilities

  • Support activities which provide analysis, financial modeling and internal reporting to support the company’s financial performance
  • Access appropriate data from new and existing systems and work across departments to complete reports and assignments
  • Participate and support activities related to “what if” scenario and sensitivity analyses for new and existing business functions and product lines
  • Collaborate closely with Portfolio Managers to monitor and track the performance of each fund (e.g. IRR), ensuring accurate and timely reporting as a key liaison within the Finance department.
  • Work seamlessly with accounting team to understand financial trends (actuals vs. budget), performance of variance analysis and other financial reporting projects
  • Work in close partnership with department heads to systematically monitor and evaluate each department’s revenue performance and expense management on at least a quarterly basis.
  • Work with the Strategy and Corporate Development team to lead new initiatives, manage transformation projects, and regularly monitor performance.
  • Create new and enhance existing internal financial reports using OneStream
  • Review external financial metrics included in marketing, investor and other external communications for both accuracy and consistency of messaging
  • Approval of all asset management marketing pitches and investor presentations
