Associate Art Director, eCommerce

J.CrewNew York, NY
$136,000 - $175,500Hybrid

About The Position

J.Crew is looking for an E-Commerce Art Director to own the creative image-making process from studio floor to final approved asset. You'll live on-set, bring a strong visual point of view, and keep the entire image pipeline moving — from shoot day through post-production sign-off. Own the on-set creative experience across all eCom and stills studio shoots, guiding teams on framing, model direction, and overall look and feel. Partner with production to build shoot schedules that hit deadlines and daily shot counts. Partner with Casting Director to oversee eCom casting in partnership with our Styling leads, working to select talent that authentically reflects the J.Crew aesthetic. Lead hair and makeup direction on set in collaboration with stylists and creative leads. Own the selects and crop process — identifying hero and supporting images and making crop decisions before anything moves to post. Consolidate retouching notes from the styling team with your own and deliver a clear, unified brief to the retouching team. QC all retouched deliverables before assets are approved and distributed. Field and triage update requests from merchant and creative stakeholders, keeping revision cycles organized and on track. Manage the seasonal shareout of final PDP imagery to cross-functional partners. Own and evolve our eCom image standards documentation covering lighting, posing, cropping, and processing. Partner with Creative leadership each season to push the visual language forward across on-figure and flat-lay content. Support editorial and studio marketing shoots as needed. Build and develop a strong bench of freelance collaborators.
