About The Position

Marx Okubo is a national architecture/engineering/construction consulting firm that partners with real estate owners, investors, and lenders to evaluate building projects, solve complex challenges, and implement tailored solutions throughout the property lifecycle. The firm values technical proficiency, innovation, dedication, achievement, and collaboration. This role is for an Associate Architect in Denver, with a hybrid work model (two days in the office, on-site visits as needed, and remote work for the remainder of the week). The work encompasses various commercial building types, including multi-family, office, retail, industrial, mixed-use, and hotel/hospitality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Architecture.
  • Licensure in Colorado.
  • Technical level understanding of most building types.
  • Thorough understanding of construction processes, activities, and scheduling.
  • Construction administration experience, construction contract types and forms.
  • Solid understanding of building materials and methods and the technical aspects of building enclosures, structures, and systems.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, Box or equivalent.
  • High-level organizational, time management, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Willingness to travel.

Nice To Haves

  • 7-12 years industry related experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of accessibility standards (FFHA and ADA) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a technical team member and small project lead.
  • Collaborate within a Marx Okubo project team, utilizing strong technical knowledge in building envelope reviews and evaluations in building design, construction, and post-occupancy.
  • Build rapport with the client, internal team, consultants, and site contacts.
  • Learn and convey an overall understanding of the clients' supported projects.
  • Review and analyze building construction and condition, performing building evaluations on existing and new construction.
  • Review and analyze contract documents including drawings, specifications, contracts, and budgets.
  • Prepare detailed formal reports formatted to company and client specifications.
  • Travel approximately 25-50% of the time both in and out of state.
