About The Position

The Associate Application Engineer supports the technical review and approval of customer orders for The Shade Store’s custom window treatment products. Acting as the final technical approval point in the quote review process, this role evaluates whether customer designs are technically accurate, manufacturable, compatible with available products, and feasible to install. The engineer applies sound judgment and problem-solving to identify fitment, operational, structural, installation, and customer-expectation risks, then recommends solutions consistent with product capabilities and manufacturing requirements. The role focuses primarily on high-value projects, technical escalations, custom applications, and orders requiring detailed engineering review. It is an entry point into Product Engineering, with opportunities to learn about product design, manufacturing processes, installation methods, and custom window treatment applications. The position is based in Port Chester, New York, with an onsite schedule on Mondays and Fridays and remote work Tuesday through Thursday.
