About The Position

Puget Sound Energy (PSE) is seeking qualified candidates to fill an open Associate Application Configuration Analyst position within its IT Application Solutions team. This role involves conducting independent research across business units to identify and resolve operational issues, driving strategic process improvements, and performing comprehensive functional analysis, requirements definition, application module configuration, and systematic testing. The analyst will formulate and define business scope and objectives, develop or modify complex business processes, and analyze business and user needs to document requirements and troubleshoot system logic. The position requires working across all phases of systems analysis, evaluating the strategic business implications of technology applications, and facilitating collaborative processes to gather business requirements. Responsibilities include conducting system prototypes, developing functional specifications, configuring transaction and control tables, managing security and authorization setup, creating user documentation, designing data interfaces, and overseeing data migration and reconciliation. The role also involves participating in the installation and performance tuning of system modifications, implementing data archiving protocols, and ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements and other regulatory standards. A commitment to safety, ethical conduct, and regulatory compliance is expected.

Requirements

  • Two (2) year degree or certification in a technology-related field or equivalent combination of education, work experience or relevant military experience.
  • Familiarity with (specialized technical requirements as shown in technical addendum).
  • Previous coursework or experience in (specialized technical requirements as shown in technical addendum).
  • Understanding of one or more component areas relevant to the job.
  • Has working knowledge in one or more of (specialized technical requirements as shown in technical addendum) functional modules.
  • Knowledge of systems and/or business analysis design concepts.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving, and conceptual skills.
  • Must be a “team player” able to work with management in developing and implementing new processes and enabling systems.
  • Able to work with end user groups to define application needs and identify feasible solutions.
  • Proactive, self-motivated with the ability to motivate others and a customer-focused service attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnoses problems, develops and implements for (specialized technical requirements as shown in technical addendum) environment solutions with oversight from Sr. Configurators.
  • Basic understanding of relevant business processes so that they can be modeled in internal systems.
  • With supervision, configures simple to moderately complex application components (analysis, design, development and implementation of solutions) based on functional requirements in (specialized technical requirements as shown in technical addendum) environments.
  • Provides support to Business Analyst or Sr Configurator in the coordination, facilitating interactive analysis and design sessions with representatives of business line and functional units.
  • Understands scope and process to gather/establish business requirements of new developments to meet changing business needs.
  • Accepts direction and supervision from team members, as required during the development cycle of assigned projects.
  • Helps organize user training programs.
  • Understands the overall IT strategy via direct experience in tactical projects and specific user requirements.
  • Understands the annual and 5-year capital IT budgets.
  • Writes functional requirements, develops test plans, and works with production issues.
  • Follows project and software development methodologies and processes.
  • Has working knowledge in one or more of (specialized technical requirements as shown in technical addendum) functional modules.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
