About The Position

This position participates in the planning and/or review of regulatory filings and analyses associated with the preparation, filing, and post-filing activities for transmission. The individual will interface with ISO-New England and participate in the coordination of required filings. Activities include coordination and support of transmission’s business plans, working with transmission operations to ensure proper reporting of NERC and ISO-NE requirements, and coordinating reporting on the group’s quarterly key performance indicator goals. The role also involves participating in special projects, including the planning and/or review of regulatory filings. The Associate Analyst is responsible for working closely with operations, planning, and engineering to facilitate the timely filing of transmission’s compliance filings.

Requirements

  • Zero (0) to three (3) years related experience is required for the associate level.
  • Familiarity with utility industry preferred.
  • Database management expertise.
  • Knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint essential.
  • Demonstrates competency and proficiency in oral and written communications.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical reasoning skills.
  • Ability to apply knowledge to solve problems.
  • Responds promptly and deals constructively with other employees.
  • Strong team building skills.
  • Must possess an understanding of financial modeling.
  • Must work effectively under pressure.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or related field; or related combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in regulatory reporting is desirable.
  • Understanding of electrical power engineering principals desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Providing analytical support to the Project Manager-Transmission Compliance.
  • Coordinating the necessary informational gathering in support of all NERC and ISO-NE related filings.
  • Maintaining up-to-date records of all applicable rules and regulations to which transmission is subject.
  • Ensuring comprehensive accurate records are maintained of all past filings.
  • Overseeing and providing input to regulatory filings for transmission.
  • Providing support to the group in the preparation of presentations to management, regulators, and other external audiences.
  • Managing the group’s calendar of filings, external meetings, and all NERC reporting requirements.
  • Building and maintaining networks of key contacts across the organization facilitating organizational efficiencies.
  • Preparing and circulating summaries of the group’s internal interaction to transmission management.
  • Participating in the planning, and/or review of regulatory filings and analyses associated with the preparation, filing and post-filing activities for the transmission.
  • Interfacing with ISO-New England and participating in the coordination of required filings.
  • Coordinating and supporting transmission’s business plans.
  • Working with transmission operations to ensure proper reporting of on NERC and ISO-NE requirements.
  • Coordinating reporting on the groups quarterly key performance indicator goals.
  • Participating in special projects, including the planning, and/or review of regulatory filings associated with the preparation, filing and post-filling activities for transmission.
  • Working closely with operations, planning and engineering in order to facilitate the timely filing of transmission’s compliance filings.
  • Responding to emergency situations to meet customers’ needs as part of an Emergency Restoration assignment.
