Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) is looking for Experienced Aircraft Sheet Metal Structures Mechanics to join our B-52 team in San Antonio, TX. This role involves performing close tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation to critical support structures and fracture critical areas. You will also locate blind holes for new structural items, perform sealing, painting, shimming, and preserving structure, and interpret engineering drawings and technical orders for structural modifications and repairs. The position requires the use of tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot level modification and repair, knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair, and sheet metal fabrication. Responsibilities include fabricating, maintaining, and repairing tooling, reading assembly and parts drawings, operating various machines, forming bends, and fabricating/repairing aircraft components like leading edges, flaps, and skins. Work may involve scarfing, blanking, grooving, forming, bending, piercing, and other operations on metal. Setup, fabrication, alignment, and hand forming to specified tolerances are also key. This position requires the ability to pass an assessment during the training cycle.
