Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) is looking for Experienced Aircraft Sheet Metal Structures Mechanics to join our B-52 team in San Antonio, TX. This role involves performing close tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation to critical support structures and fracture critical areas. It also includes locating blind holes for new structural items, performing sealing, painting, shimming, and preserving structure, and interpreting engineering drawings, technical orders, and process specifications for structural modifications and repairs. Mechanics will use tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot level modification and repair, troubleshoot and repair aircraft mechanical components, and fabricate, construct, alter, repair, and maintain tooling, dies, jigs, holding fixtures, assemblies, sub-assemblies, and shop aids. They will fabricate metals according to various directives and are responsible for first-level fabrication, maintenance, tool maintenance, repair, and storage of production tooling. The role requires reading assembly drawings, parts drawings, specifications, job layouts, and operating various machines. Mechanics will form bends, fabricate and repair aircraft components, and perform various metalworking operations. This position requires the ability to pass an assessment during the training cycle.
