About The Position

RBC Dominion Securities, Canada's leading full-service investment and wealth management firm, is seeking talented, self-directed individuals with a growth- and goals-oriented mindset to join their downtown Vancouver branch. As an Associate Advisor, you will work with an Investment Advisor team, providing proactive advice and support to clients and the Investment Advisor. Your role will involve deepening existing client relationships, welcoming new clients, identifying new opportunities, and contributing to business growth.

Requirements

  • Approval as a Registered Representative (RR) with IIROC
  • 2 or more years of professional experience within the investment industry in a similar role
  • Canadian Investment Regulatory Exam, CIRE and the Retail Securities Exam
  • University degree
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong skills working with business applications/technology, including Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate meetings and events for the Investment Advisor with their clients and prospects, determining agenda and key topics, preparing documentation, executing post-meeting work, and attending client meetings when required.
  • Provide proactive client service and resolve problems, liaising with various departments to ensure smooth and timely solutions.
  • Respond to client account inquiries and take ownership of follow-ups.
  • Assist in building and executing business plans, client segmentation exercises, and client service plans.
  • Identify opportunities for asset consolidation and referrals within the existing client base.
  • Support the advisory team with new client acquisition.
  • Nurture and manage relationships with Centers of Influence (COIs) and RBC partners.
  • Provide trading and/or portfolio rebalancing support.
  • Conduct ongoing research on markets and investments and provide regular updates to the advisory team.
  • Support the advisory team and clients throughout the Wealth Management process.
  • Coordinate activities with internal Wealth Management specialists, manage documentation, track progress, and follow up.
