Threadline Wealth is an independent SEC-registered investment adviser serving high-net-worth individuals, families, and business owners. The Associate Advisor supports the delivery of comprehensive wealth management and financial planning services to clients while building the technical, professional, and client-facing skills necessary for a long-term advisory career. Working closely with Senior Associate Advisors, Wealth Advisors, and Senior Wealth Advisors, this role contributes to financial planning analysis, meeting preparation, implementation, portfolio support, and ongoing client service. Associate Advisors are expected to take ownership of assigned work, produce accurate and timely deliverables, build a strong foundation across financial planning and investments, and begin developing the judgment and communication skills needed to contribute recommendations rather than simply complete tasks. This role is designed as the foundational stage of Threadline Wealth's advisor career path and provides progressive opportunities for client exposure, technical development, and increased responsibility.

This position is based in the San Francisco Bay Area, depending on business needs and candidate fit. The role follows a hybrid work model, with regular in-office collaboration expected approximately 3–4 days per week. Some travel for client meetings and other business needs should be expected.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Financial Planning, or a related field preferred
• 0-2 years of wealth management, financial planning, or investment advisory experience preferred
• Interest in pursuing a long-term career in wealth management and financial planning
• Commitment to pursuing CFP® certification required; progress toward CFP® certification preferred
• Experience with financial planning, CRM, portfolio management, or reporting systems preferred
• Internship or prior experience in financial services, public accounting, banking, or professional services environments preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with close attention to accuracy and detail
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Intellectual curiosity and genuine interest in financial planning, investments, markets, and wealth management
• Initiative and willingness to develop and express a point of view rather than simply execute assigned tasks
• Ability to accept, seek out, and apply feedback

Responsibilities

• Gather, organize, validate, and maintain complete and accurate client financial information.
• Complete straightforward financial planning analyses and plan preparation independently with limited rework.
• Utilize the firm's planning tools and processes to support recommendations across retirement, cash flow, tax considerations, insurance, estate planning, education planning, and investments.
• Prepare clear, organized planning deliverables, reports, and client presentations.
• Build foundational knowledge across financial planning, investments, insurance, taxes, and markets.
• Begin identifying planning observations and offering thoughtful recommendations on potential courses of action for advisor review.
• Take ownership of assigned client deliverables, implementation activities, and follow-up tasks through completion.
• Coordinate client paperwork, account maintenance requests, and other implementation activities.
• Help ensure client commitments and action items are completed accurately and on time.
• Support portfolio monitoring, rebalancing, trade preparation, and implementation in coordination with advisors and the investment team.
• Monitor and communicate client cash needs and other routine account considerations to the advisory team.
• Maintain complete and current client information, activity, and follow-up documentation in the firm's CRM and other systems.
• Assist in gathering and coordinating tax-related information and deliverables for clients and their tax professionals.
• Review client files, history, goals, and relevant planning information thoroughly in preparation for meetings.
• Prepare accurate meeting materials, reports, and planning deliverables.
• Participate professionally in client meetings and progressively contribute to advisory discussions as knowledge and experience develop.
• Complete clear and accurate meeting notes, action items, and follow-up responsibilities.
• Build familiarity with each client's goals, household circumstances, and ongoing planning priorities.
• Take full ownership of assigned tasks and responsibilities within the client workflow.
• Manage multiple assignments and deadlines without sacrificing accuracy or quality.
• Proactively communicate competing priorities, capacity constraints, or timeline risks.
• Use firm systems, tools, and processes accurately and consistently.
• Seek clarification and escalate issues appropriately when additional judgment or expertise is needed.
• Develop proficiency in the firm's planning processes, technology platforms, investment approach, and client service model.
• Actively progress toward CFP® certification as a core professional development expectation.
• Seek, receive, and act on feedback from senior advisors and team members.
• Establish professional development goals and take ownership of progress toward the Senior Associate Advisor level.
• Maintain current knowledge of business, economic, market, and financial planning developments.
• Collaborate effectively across advisory, investment, operations, and client service teams.
• Contribute to team initiatives, knowledge sharing, and process improvement.
• Learn to articulate Threadline Wealth's services and value proposition clearly and confidently.
• Begin building a professional network of peers, colleagues, and community connections.
• Represent the firm professionally in client, business, and community settings.
