About The Position
Seeking a highly skilled and motivated Associate Actuary to lead complex actuarial analyses, support business decision-making, and contribute to the development of actuarial processes and team capabilities. This role offers exposure to a broad range of insurance products and provides opportunities to take ownership of projects from analysis through implementation. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement.
Requirements
- Progress toward ACAS designation with continued pursuit of FCAS preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of actuarial pricing and/or reserving experience within Property and Casualty insurance.
- Proficiency with SQL, R, Python, VBA, or similar data analysis tools.
- Prior experience with rate filings preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage complex projects and take ownership from analysis through implementation.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
Nice To Haves
- Continued pursuit of FCAS preferred.
- Prior experience with rate filings preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead rate indications, reserving analyses, profitability studies, and other actuarial projects across multiple lines of business, including BOP, Umbrella, Workers’ Compensation, and Commercial Auto.
- Provide actuarial support for a variety of insurance products, including specialty and catastrophe-exposed risks.
- Support the development and filing of rate changes with regulatory authorities.
- Apply actuarial and business expertise to develop effective, data-driven solutions.
- Identify and implement improved methods and processes to enhance team effectiveness.
- Present analyses, findings, and recommendations clearly to support business decisions.
- Maintain thorough documentation to ensure analyses can be understood and reproduced.
- Mentor and support the development of junior actuarial professionals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders on actuarial, pricing, product, and business initiatives.
