Position Overview MPC has an opportunity for an Associate Accounting Program Coordinator! This position reports to the Accounting Supervisor over Accounting Recruiting and Coordination, and is open in Findlay, OH. This position is responsible for the delivery and continuous improvement of the Accounting Intern Program, helping ensure interns have effective onboarding, training, and engagement experience in all Marathon locations. The position partners closely with Accounting, Talent Acquisition, and University Relations to coordinate recruiting and program logistics, maintain learning materials, and align objectives to business needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Accounting, Business Administration or other related discipline.
  • Zero (0) to two (2) years of experience in accounting, business administration or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Support and contribute to the ongoing development and execution of the Accounting Intern Program for assigned aspects of program delivery, learning effectiveness, and coordination.
  • Analyze program‑related data, feedback, and outcomes to identify trends, issues, and improvement opportunities.
  • Support recommendations to enhance intern learning, engagement, and talent readiness.
  • Develop, maintain, and update accounting‑specific onboarding materials, training content, and reference documentation to ensure alignment with accounting standards, business needs, and learning objectives.
  • Partner with Accounting, Talent Acquisition, and University Relations to align recruiting, scheduling, and intern learning objectives.
  • Support intern recruiting and campus engagement activities, including interview coordination, scheduling, and program logistics, while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and candidate experience.
  • Monitor and analyze intern program spending by compiling cost data, tracking budget performance, and escalating variances as needed.
  • Evaluate and improve program processes, tools, and documentation to strengthen standardization, controls, and efficiency.
  • Support and contribute to engagement and enrichment programs for the Controller’s organization (e.g., mentorship, CPA certification support, job shadowing, and related development opportunities).
