About The Position

This role offers an exceptional opportunity to develop specialized expertise in insurance financial compliance while working with a collaborative team of industry professionals. As an Associate Accounting Professional, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring our financial compliance across multiple state jurisdictions. You'll manage critical reporting requirements, develop specialized knowledge in Property and Casualty insurance compliance, and build valuable relationships with regulatory agencies.

Requirements

College graduate with BA or BS in Accounting with at least 2 years of relevant working experience
Knowledge of finance and accounting principles with demonstrated ability to apply them in practical settings
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately
Proven attention to detail and ability to review returns for reasonableness and identify issues
Experience with data mining and financial reporting

Nice To Haves

Experience in insurance industry, particularly in property and casualty
Knowledge of state insurance regulatory requirements
Proficiency with financial compliance software and data management tools
Experience communicating with regulatory agencies

Responsibilities

Mine system data for required state reporting, ensuring accuracy and completeness
Prepare and file premium tax returns, data calls, surcharge reports, and guaranty fund payments
Monitor guaranty fund credits, premium tax refunds, and credits with precision
Prepare related account reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy
Engage with State Insurance Departments and related state agencies regarding required filings
Maintain open communication with the financial compliance team and other Swiss Re departments
