As an Associate Accounting Coordinator you will, under direct supervision, ensure the timely and accurate processing and reporting of refined product purchase and sale transactions for international refineries and terminals. Monitor customer accounts receivable and vendor accounts payable for accuracy, timely processing, and clearing of transactions. At Valero, this role performs duties that support our commitment to advancing the future of energy through innovation, ingenuity, and unmatched execution, including: Process international transactions to completion in SAP, including obtaining appropriate documentation and correcting errors. Review and reconciles vendor invoices for accuracy and validity to ensure prompt payment. Coordinate and communicates with other departments as needed to resolve customer and vendor issues to ensure complete and timely processing of transactions. Perform monthly account reviews for basic customer and vendor accounts to ensure appropriateness of open items. Prepare journal entries as needed, including month-end journal entries. Respond to external and internal customer inquiries in a timely manner with a high-level of customer service. Assist in preparing reports and schedules for management, customers, vendors and auditors as necessary. Act as a backup and assists other employees with activities as requested. This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.

Requirements

  • Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero San Antonio location, required.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • No experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s or higher level degree - in Accounting preferred.
  • 1 year of Accounting experience preferred.
