About The Position

The Associate Accountant – Owner Relations is a professional accounting position at Continental Resources, Inc. The role receives owner inquiries and responds courteously, accurately, and in a timely manner. It handles accounting processes related to owner revenue distribution issues and supports revenue owner relations, 1099s, outside-operated check input, interest calculations, legal requests, and reconciliation activities.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university.
Experience with MS Excel.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work as a team player.
Ability to find more efficient ways to complete tasks.
Flexibility and ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.
Strong initiative and ability to work independently with little supervision.
Close attention to detail.
Acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.

Nice To Haves

Prior revenue recognition experience.
Oil and gas accounting experience.
Working knowledge of SAP.
Proficiency in MS Word.

Responsibilities

Manage the Revenue Distribution email account, responding courteously, accurately, and promptly to owners’ revenue-related questions.
Respond to owner phone calls and inquiries received by mail.
Manage revenue vouchers, returned emails, and returned revenue checks.
Maintain the voided check ledger and void stale-dated checks and other checks as needed.
Assist with owner 1099 questions.
Print and verify 1099s upon request.
Prepare owner interest calculations and late royalty payments.
Assist with legal requests regarding owner payments.
Process manual journal entries to owners payable accounts.
Assist in processing Outside Operated (OSO) Oil and Gas Purchaser payments accurately and by specified closing deadlines.
Perform other duties as assigned.
