About The Position

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Corporate Financial Analyst to support Corporate Accounting. Reporting to the Manager of Corporate Accounting, the position contributes to account reconciliations, journal entries, financial analyses and reporting, consolidation, and audit activities. The role works with sectors, Corporate departments, and foreign and shared-service accounting staff to support appropriate accounting processes and corporate financial reporting.

Requirements

• Recent graduate (within the year) with a bachelor's degree in Accounting and 0 years of relevant work experience.
• A recently earned master's degree or CPA may substitute for 2 years of experience; both a master's degree and CPA may substitute for a total of 3 years of experience.
• Directly relevant public accounting experience may count for up to an additional year of experience for each year of relevant experience.

Nice To Haves

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or actively pursuing licensure.
• Public accounting firm experience.
• Prior experience with SAP and/or Hyperion Financial Management.
• Strong time management and organization skills.
• Ability to function in a dynamic organization while effectively managing competing priorities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of government contract accounting regulations, cost accounting standards, and federal acquisition regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare account reconciliations and assist with resolving reconciling items.
• Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation for routine and non-routine material or complex transactions.
• Assist with financial statement analytics and other management reports.
• Work with sectors and Corporate departments, including government accounting, tax, and treasury, on routine transactions.
• Interact with foreign and shared-service accounting staff to ensure appropriate accounting processes are in place.
• Assist with quarterly and year-end financial reporting packages for corporate entities.
• Assist with the monthly load and consolidation of corporate domestic entities into Hyperion Financial Management.
• Assist with SOX, DCAA, and IRS audits.
• Maintain documentation supporting the statement of work.
