About The Position

Join Compass Group USA’s Cash Compliance & Controls (C3) team and help drive financial accuracy across hundreds of operations. The Associate Accountant helps ensure the integrity of credit card and banking transactions across Compass’s operations. The role is described as fast-paced, with direct impact on financial statements and exposure to field operations and corporate leadership.

Requirements

Four-year degree in Accounting or Finance.
Accounting internship experience and prior customer service background.
Strong customer-service focus and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Ability to perform effectively under tight deadlines.
Ability to learn quickly, self-motivate, and work independently.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with associates, customers, and all levels of management.

Responsibilities

Reconcile high-volume credit card and banking activities, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.
Review and reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts monthly to ensure balances are properly stated.
Investigate recurring exceptions and trends to flag high-risk locations and collaborate with Loss Prevention on reporting.
Prepare accurate journal entries and support month-end close.
Process internal customer requests from audit, field, treasury, and payroll via Remedy, providing responsive, solution-oriented support.
Create and maintain monthly and closing checklists for all operations.
Partner with business owners to enforce compliance with financial controls and company policy.
Identify inefficiencies and drive process improvements.
Support special projects and ad hoc reporting as assigned.
