The Associate Account Manager role presents an opportunity to join one of the fastest growing firms in the industry and is a key player on the Construction team. The Associate Account Manager is the support system behind the operations of the Client Success team. They help ensure that our client experience is the best possible experience with Virtus. This position requires someone that is organized and can work in a team environment with deadlines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field and/or years of experience equivalent.
  • Must have familiarity and good working knowledge of various Microsoft software applications (Excel), Agency Management Systems, and the ability to learn new software systems.
  • Position requires direct communication with clients; therefore, strong written and oral communication skills, with a commitment to impeccable customer service are required.
  • Ability to utilize all resources available to find answers for client inquiries and fully resolve any insurance related issues is required.
  • Applies a solid knowledge of major insurance coverages, (including general/product liability, commercial automobile, workers’ compensation, property, time element, umbrella, financial coverages, etc.), client-specific coverages and premium rating methods and audits.
  • Understands the structure and content of insurance contracts and is aware of most commercial insurance coverages.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Exudes confidence and sound technical knowledge.
  • Willingness to learn and continue to grow as an insurance professional in an entrepreneurial environment.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 to 2 years of previous related commercial insurance experience preferred.
  • Insurance Designations or desire to complete designations a plus.
  • Prior experience with various standard carrier quoting systems strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with answering client calls or returning voicemails and emails in a timely and professional manner.
  • Able to prioritize client inquiries and endorsement requests while accurately processing requests to avoid additional work.
  • Assist on all accounts, managing key processes that serve clients and undertaking the client-facing and internal activities related to these processes.
  • Assists Account Manager(s) and Account Executive(s) to market new and renewal placements, as needed.
  • Able to learn new carrier systems and utilize resources to find answers to questions as they arise.
  • Assists in nurturing strong client relationships and driving additional sales through cross-quoting other lines of business.
  • Maintains effective and productive relationships with clients.
  • Actively supports and monitors the new business and renewal processes.
  • Ensures that account data supports the integrity of company accounting and tracking systems.
  • Acts with responsiveness, urgency, and professionalism in all client matters.
  • Accepts accountability for the quality of their work and capable of working well with the Commercial Division.
  • Available to work from 8am – 5pm CST Monday thru Friday.
  • Other duties as assigned by the team and leadership.
