About The Position

Under occasional supervision, develops and manages transactional sales opportunities for a defined region through a combination of in-person selling, remote relationship building, and closing on new opportunities. Provide ongoing account management and problem solving, along with finding new opportunities to up-sell and cross-sell to agents within the region. Gathers and analyzes market intelligence on competitors, performs audits, and attend various meeting and industry functions as needed.

Requirements

  • Prefers a bachelor’s degree in marketing, insurance, or a related field and 0-2 years of experience in a similar field or position.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve sales objectives.
  • Ability to build, foster and maintain positive, professional customer relationships.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills
  • Problem solving and conflict resolution capabilities.
  • Willingness to develop in depth understanding of RLI business.
  • Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and customers.
  • Ability to communicate findings and recommendations to management on insurance sales matters.
  • Creativity in solving issues and problems.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, build, and promote insurance products within an assigned market.
  • Identify and close on sales opportunities through a combination of in-person and remote selling in order to successfully market and grow insurance product premiums.
  • Determine potential opportunities for new business, add-on or cross-selling business, and maintain future opportunities.
  • Develop long-term relationships and repeat business by understanding the problems, challenges, and needs of key agents and developing solutions to address these issues.
  • Identify prospects through various lead generation activities.
  • Manage one-on-one customer meetings, both in person and remotely, with customers to explain services and train their staff on our technology.
  • Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organizational standards.
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
  • Monitor and report on competitive changes in the marketplace including changes to rate, product, underwriting, and agency compensation models.
  • Assist in special projects and other duties as needed.
