Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, art or other related field.
  • Six years of experience in the development of marketing and informational materials, writing/research, project management and/or information technology.
  • Additional related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Knowledge of publishing and other related software.
  • Demonstrated creativity in the design of marketing, public relations or educational programs and communications materials.
  • This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs.
  • This role requires residency in the state of GA.

  • Experience in higher education or academic medical center settings
  • Familiarity with donor engagement and advancement events
  • Knowledge of neuroscience, brain health, or related fields

Responsibilities

  • Manages internal and external communications efforts for a school or division, and provides communications perspective on initiatives and strategic planning.
  • Produces executive communications and reports for divisional leadership.
  • Directs the development of marketing, promotional, and communications strategies and policies to build awareness of division/school initiatives and priorities, and to serve various communications needs.
  • Provides leadership on communications projects, ensuring that communications reflect divisional commitments, strategic priorities, and quality requirements.
  • May oversee the division/school's website, as well as social media presence and activity.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of communication strategies across platforms and audiences.
  • Oversees relationships with vendors and Emory service providers.
  • May serve as spokesperson for the division/school, as appropriate.
  • May manage a budget and staff.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.
