About The Position

A well-qualified candidate will be visionary, flexible, innovative and willing to lead and support a dynamic group of faculty, staff and students in the rural mountain west. The Associate Dean will serve a 12-month appointment acting as a representative for the Dean of the School of Nursing.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in nursing from an accredited institution or master’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution with doctoral degree in related field.
  • Eligible for unencumbered RN licensure in Wyoming.
  • At least five (5) years of experience practicing in nursing.
  • History of experience in curriculum development, accreditation, and program evaluation
  • Record of academic teaching and scholarship to warrant tenure and appointment to Associate Professor/Professor rank.
  • Evidence of academic leadership experience.
  • Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with the Driving for University Business SAP.

Nice To Haves

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills as evidenced by a record of publications and presentations.
  • Experience working with and recruiting students, faculty and community partners.
  • Experience and/or interest in rural healthcare education and practice.

Responsibilities

  • The Associate Dean is responsible for internal leadership and administration, curriculum development, accreditation, student recruitment, admissions and progression, program evaluation, and faculty development and development of faculty research/scholarship.
  • Moreover, the Associate Dean will teach in the Fay W. Whitney School of Nursing and have an active program of research as well as a strong service perspective.
