Southeastern Louisiana University seeks a visionary, transformative, and strategic leader to serve as the next Dean of the College of Science and Technology at Southeastern Louisiana University. The dean will establish a bold vision, set achievable goals, and lead the college to a greater prominence regionally and nationally. With approximately 115 full-time faculty members and five academic departments, the college offers baccalaureate degree programs in Biological Sciences; Chemistry; Computer Science; Engineering Technology; Industrial Technology; Information Technology; Integrated Science and Technology; Mathematics; Occupational Safety, Health, & Environment; and Physics, as well as Master’s programs in Biology, Computer Networking and Administration, and Integrated Science and Technology to approximately 1,883 undergraduate and graduate majors. The dean serves as the chief academic officer of the college and reports to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. The dean is responsible to both the Provost and the President for providing leadership and direction for the college and its diverse group of students, faculty and staff. Responsibilities include supporting an environment that encourages excellence in teaching and scholarship, program development, and active collaboration within the college, across the university, and with the community at large. Reporting administratively to the dean are the assistant dean; department heads of Biological Sciences, Chemistry and Physics, Computer Science, Industrial and Engineering Technology, Mathematics; directors of the Center for Environmental Research and Northshore Regional STEM Center; and the manager of the Turtle Cove Environmental Research Station. The appointment is a 12-month position. Salary is commensurate with experience.
