Assisted Living Server - Part Time 3:30 pm to 7:00 pm all days
About The Position
The Gables is seeking reliable, compassionate Food Servers for its assisted living facility. This role is ideal for hospitality professionals who prefer meaningful connections over high-volume turnover. Food Servers provide a vital point of daily connection for elderly residents, maintaining a high standard of service in a warm, community-focused environment. Unlike traditional restaurant work, this is a non-tipped position offering a competitive, stable hourly wage. The role emphasizes genuine passion for working with seniors, where servers are expected to provide warmth and comfort, making residents feel welcome, recognized, and "at home."
Requirements
- Must be over the age of 18.
- Not a college student looking solely for summer employment.
- Must be able to work a minimum of 2 days per week.
- Reliability: Show up on time and ready to help.
- Ability to interact warmly with elderly residents and communicate effectively with the team.
- Genuine passion for working with seniors.
- Patience and empathy to listen and engage with elderly residents.
- Ability to lift 20 lbs.
Nice To Haves
- Prior server experience is preferred.
- Heart for service is a requirement.
Responsibilities
- Lead the dining room flow to ensure residents receive timely and accurate meal service.
- Foster a welcoming, respectful, and patient atmosphere for our residents.
- Assist with light prep, plating, and ensuring the dining area remains pristine.
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen staff to accommodate dietary preferences and needs.
- Ensuring all tables are properly set, aligned, and inviting before every meal.
- Changing and laundering tablecloths as needed and ensuring dining room floors are kept clean and debris-free.
- Assisting with the thorough cleaning of the dining area and service stations after each shift.
- Monitoring the overall condition of the dining room to ensure it stays in "great shape" for our residents and their guests.
