About The Position

The Gables is seeking reliable, compassionate Food Servers to join their food service team. This role is ideal for hospitality professionals who prefer meaningful connections with elderly residents over high-volume turnover. The food service team provides a vital point of daily connection for residents, maintaining a high standard of service in a warm, community-focused environment. This is a non-tipped position offering a competitive, stable hourly wage.

Requirements

Must be over the age of 18.
Must not be a college student looking solely for summer employment.
Must be able to work a minimum of 2 days per week for the Dinner Shift (6:30 AM – 2:00 PM).
Reliability: Must show up on time and ready to help.
Communication: Ability to interact warmly with elderly residents and communicate effectively with the team.
Genuine passion for working with seniors.
Patience and empathy to listen and engage with elderly residents.
Ability to lift 20 lbs.

Nice To Haves

Prior server experience is preferred.
A heart for service is a requirement.

Responsibilities

Lead the dining room flow to ensure residents receive timely and accurate meal service.
Foster a welcoming, respectful, and patient atmosphere for residents.
Assist with light prep, plating, and ensuring the dining area remains pristine.
Work collaboratively with the kitchen staff to accommodate dietary preferences and needs.
Ensure all tables are properly set, aligned, and inviting before every meal.
Change and launder tablecloths as needed.
Ensure dining room floors are kept clean and debris-free.
Assist with the thorough cleaning of the dining area and service stations after each shift.
Monitor the overall condition of the dining room to ensure it stays in "great shape" for residents and their guests.
