About The Position

The Gables is seeking reliable, compassionate Food Servers for their assisted living facility. This role focuses on providing meaningful connections and high-quality service to elderly residents, fostering a warm, community-focused environment. Unlike traditional restaurant work, this is a non-tipped position offering a stable hourly wage. The ideal candidate has a genuine passion for working with seniors, understanding that a smile and kind word are as important as the meal itself.

Requirements

• Must be over the age of 18.
• Not a college student looking solely for summer employment.
• Prior server experience is preferred, but a heart for service is a requirement.
• Reliability: Must show up on time and ready to help.
• Communication: Ability to interact warmly with elderly residents and communicate effectively with the team.
• Genuine passion for working with seniors.
• Patience and empathy to listen and engage with elderly residents.
• Ability to lift 20 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the dining room flow to ensure residents receive timely and accurate meal service.
• Foster a welcoming, respectful, and patient atmosphere for our residents.
• Assist with light prep, plating, and ensuring the dining area remains pristine.
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen staff to accommodate dietary preferences and needs.
• Ensuring all tables are properly set, aligned, and inviting before every meal.
• Changing and laundering tablecloths as needed and ensuring dining room floors are kept clean and debris-free.
• Assisting with the thorough cleaning of the dining area and service stations after each shift.
• Monitoring the overall condition of the dining room to ensure it stays in "great shape" for our residents and their guests.
