Responsibilities
Serves as a companion and an advocate to all residents
Understands and practices Academy Boulder’s procedures for Assisted Living resident support
Reviews and understands each Assisted Living resident's care plan
Participates/leads and assists residents with activities of daily living, including but not limited to, dressing, bathing, oral hygiene, ambulation, transferring, grooming, eating, and toileting
Assists with preparation, serving, and cleanup of meals, including the escorting of residents to the dining room
Documents resident care and observations in electronic health record (EHR) system
Informs supervisor of resident changes of condition, increased care needs, and/or resident family concerns
Prepares and administers medications and treatments
Responds to emergencies and performs first aid as needed
Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, weight, pulse and respiration rates
Keeps residents’ rooms and common areas neat and clean, notifies housekeeping/maintenance of special needs
Encourages and supports the residents’ participation in meaningful activities and social engagement
Creates and maintains a safe workplace; reports unsafe areas or situations to the appropriate department head
Protects residents’ rights, records, and privacy as required by federal, state, and local regulations
Adheres to all state regulations governing assisted living and medication administration
