The Assistant Women's Track and Field Coach supports and assists the Head Coach with the organization and direction of all aspects of a highly competitive Track and Field program. The assistant coach will instruct, train, and coach student-athletes in the jumps, sprints, and hurdles, and will partner with the Head Coach on the multi-events. Dayton operates as an integrated coaching staff: event-group coaches lead their areas while collaborating across event groups on training design, athlete development, and competition preparation within a unified program philosophy set by the Head Coach. The assistant coach will instruct student athletes for purposes of academic, social development, compliance requirements, and safety and health considerations. Additionally, this coach is tasked with identification, recruitment and support of athletically and academically qualified student athletes, sports specific training and program development, and contest preparation. The Assistant Coach supports the Head Coach in administrative and leadership processes for team travel, program budgets, academic success, fundraising, public/alumni relations, and promoting the philosophy and objectives of the Department of Athletics and the University of Dayton. University of Dayton Athletics employees are expected to comply with all laws, policies, rules and regulations governing the University, the NCAA and the Atlantic 10 Conference. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate expertise in all aspects of coaching student-athletes and demonstrate a commitment to the highest ideals of leadership, sportsmanship and academics with demonstrated and successful experience working with people from diverse backgrounds.
