About The Position

The Assistant Cross Country / Track & Field Coach reports directly to the Head Cross Country / Track & Field Coach and is responsible for assisting in the organization and administration of the cross country / track & field teams in accordance with the rules and regulations of the University, Horizon League and NCAA. The coach must have a commitment to developing a competitive NCAA Division I cross country / track & field programs, while maintaining an emphasis on the academic success of the student-athletes. The Assistant Cross Country / Track & Field Coach will be expected to assist in administering the programs in a manner that promotes the health, safety and welfare of the student-athlete.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of five years coaching experience.
  • Recruiting, developing and motivating student-athletes
  • Good organizational and communication skills
  • Displays leadership and integrity skills
  • Valid Driver’s License required.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong consideration will be given to previous cross country / track & field event experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform recruiting activities as assigned by the Head Coach, to meet the objectives of the university and team, including the evaluation, contact and ongoing communication with prospective student-athletes and coaches.
  • Coordinate and organize recruiting schedules for program personnel.
  • Utilize social media in promotion of the team and in the recruitment of potential student-athletes.
  • Assist with the arrangement and supervision of transportation, lodging, and meals for team travel for both programs.
  • Performs planning, organization, and execution for coaching duties as described and assigned by the Head Coach for all meetings, practice sessions, and competitions.
