About The Position

The University of Tampa is seeking a Part-Time Assistant Women's Lacrosse Coach. This role involves assisting in the day-to-day administration and strategic management of the women's lacrosse program. Responsibilities include coordinating game-day operations, supporting team travel and fundraising, ensuring compliance with all relevant rules and regulations, and playing an active role in recruiting and retention efforts. The coach will also be responsible for designing and implementing practice plans, scouting reports, and game strategies, providing on-field coaching, leading individual coaching sessions, and organizing team film review. Additionally, the position requires monitoring and supporting the academic progress and well-being of student-athletes, fostering a positive team culture, and upholding high ethical standards with a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Strong working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations, as well as the rules of women's lacrosse.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and earn the respect of student-athletes.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to create a positive, high-performance learning environment.
  • Flexibility and willingness to adopt new technologies and innovative coaching/organizational practices.
  • Proficiency, or the demonstrated ability to quickly learn, university systems such as Workday, Watermark, Navigate, and Microsoft Office.
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by competition and recruiting schedules.

  • Collegiate-level coaching experience in women's lacrosse.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the day-to-day administration and strategic management of the women's lacrosse program.
  • Coordinate game-day operations and support team travel logistics and fundraising initiatives.
  • Ensure full compliance with all NCAA, conference, university, and athletic department rules and regulations.
  • Play an active role in all phases of recruiting — identifying, evaluating, and communicating with prospective student-athletes — and support retention efforts for current roster members.
  • Represent the program's standards and culture throughout the recruiting process.
  • Design and implement practice plans, scouting reports, and game strategies in coordination with the Head Coach.
  • Provide on-field coaching and direction during practices and competitions to advance both individual skill and team performance.
  • Lead individual coaching sessions tailored to student-athlete development needs.
  • Organize and coordinate team film review to support tactical preparation and player growth.
  • Monitor and support the academic progress of team members, including oversight of study halls, academic advising coordination, and general support for student-athlete wellbeing.
  • Foster a team culture centered on accountability, respect, and personal development.
  • Uphold the highest ethical standards in all responsibilities, consistent with the University's mission, vision, and values — including a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
