Persons employed to coach in the interscholastic athletic programs of the Cedar Falls Community School District shall report to the building principal via the athletic director/activities coordinator of the building. This role involves motivating students, maintaining an atmosphere conducive to school spirit and enjoyment of the activity, and upholding high standards of personal conduct. The coach is responsible for the safety and conduct of participants, instilling sportsmanship, enforcing the student code of conduct, and maintaining discipline. This position requires preparing and implementing practice and event plans, communicating effectively with administration, students, and parents, and keeping relevant personnel informed of progress and issues. Additionally, the coach must maintain necessary records, safeguard school property, and cooperate with other staff members. Evaluation-related functions and other assigned duties are also part of the role.
