About The Position

ACU is affiliated with the fellowship of the Church of Christ. This position requires the employee to be a professing Christian and to be willing to support the Christian mission of ACU. ‌ Responsible to the Head Women’s Basketball Coach for coaching student athletes and recruiting. Basic Responsibilities Administrative Duties Travel Coordinator Liaison to Compliance Assist with Campus Visits Transcript Review Academic Monitoring Assist Summer Camp Coordinator Special Events and Community Service Responsible for understanding NCAA rules for yourself and your student-athletes Other duties as directed by Head Women’s Basketball Coach Essential Duties include the following. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Coaching experience
  • Leadership or management experience

  • Ability to work and interact well with all levels of staff, faculty, and administration
  • Strong voice for extended period of talking
  • Able to endure extended periods of walking and/or standing
  • Able to demonstrate techniques used in basketball
  • Able to adapt to long, extended hours of travel

Responsibilities

  • Run Social Media Accounts
  • Assist in putting together recruiting mailouts and graphics
  • Have knowledge with Photoshop and/or other editing software
  • Coordinate film exchange through Synergy or proper software
  • Run our team platform (Teamworks or similar)
  • Coordinate team travel w/ the Head Coach
  • Reserve hotels, purchase flights, reserve buses and other transportation
  • Secure practice times on the road
  • Put together travel itinerary for staff and players
  • Handle all money and expenditures on team trips
  • Create pre order process for all team meals
  • Coordinate and purchase pre-game meals for home games
  • Work closely with appropriate athletic staff on purchasing and travel
  • Maintain travel expense spreadsheet for head coach and Paul Weir
  • Create travel squad pass list for away and home games
  • Make sure all forms are filled out in Arms in regards to compliance
  • Maintain practice logs
  • Set up monthly meetings with compliance staff
  • Make sure coaching staff is up to date on any rules changes
  • Schedule on campus tours and professor/advisor meetings
  • Ensure reserved parking and lanyards for all campus visits
  • Secure hotel rooms and make reservations for meals and entertainment
  • Reserve golf cart(s) for visits
  • Coordinate with the recruiting coordinator on itinerary and email to recruits in a timely manner.
  • Understand how to evaluate transcripts prior to submitting for approval
  • Submit recruits’ transcripts through proper channels for academic review
  • Responsible for monitoring 4-5 student athletes
  • Report and struggles to Academic Staff and Head Coach
  • Reserve dates for next year's camps
  • Market and promote all camps
  • Run and fill out all expense sheets for camps
  • Plan and organize all team community service projects
  • Plan and organize all special events on campus for other sporting events, banquets, photo shoots, tailgates, etc.
  • Compliance with NCAA rules is of the utmost importance at Abilene Christian University. As a member of the athletics department staff, it is expected that you will have a full understanding of the NCAA rules that pertain to your position. It is also expected that you will comply with all NCAA rules, and if you become aware, or have reasonable cause to believe, that a violation of a rule has occurred, you will immediately report it to the Director of Athletics or his/her designee
