About The Position

The Assistant Women's Basketball Coach will assist the head coach in the overall operation of a Division I women's basketball program. This entry-level position is ideal for someone looking to begin or advance their career in collegiate athletics. The successful candidate will support the head coach in all aspects of the program, including player development, recruiting, academic support, and daily operations. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education
• At least five years of NCAA Division I women's basketball coaching experience
• Demonstrated experience recruiting at the NCAA Division I level
• Knowledge of NCAA and SEC rules and regulations
• Knowledge of technical aspects of the assigned sport and willingness to continue to learn and examine new ideas pertinent to the assigned sport
• Excellent relationship-building skills with student-athletes and recruits
• Ability to work with potential students with diverse backgrounds
• Ability to use sound judgment and critical thinking skills when determining students’ needs
• Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment

Nice To Haves

• Experience coaching within a dribble-drive motion offensive system or similar attacking, pace-and-space offensive schemes
• Demonstrated ability to serve as a defensive coordinator or defensive specialist, including game planning, scouting, and player development on the defensive end
• Coaching experience at a SEC or other Power 4 program
• Demonstrated awareness of the transfer portal, NIL and revenue share landscape
